About Sarina:
Hi! I’m Sarina, a Biology undergraduate student at UBC with research interests in cellular and molecular biology. I began my research journey at the Vancouver Prostate Centre through a 16-month co-op, where I studied the role of nucleolar proteins and ribosome biogenesis in cancer progression using molecular and cell biology approaches. I later continued through summer research award programs, contributed to a peer-reviewed publication, and presented my work at conferences. Most recently, I joined a research project at ICORD investigating the molecular mechanisms that regulate sensory neuron regeneration after injury. Along the way, I’ve gained experience navigating co-op, research awards, cold emailing, and other undergraduate research opportunities. I’m happy to share what I’ve learned and help students explore research pathways that fit their interests and goals. Please feel free to reach out!
