About Kyra:
My name is Kyra, and I am a current Master of Arts in Kinesiology student at the University of British Columbia, studying under Dr. Mark Beauchamp. I am interested in leadership education, patient wellbeing, and physical activity, broadly. My thesis will focus on how local primary care providers percieve their training around physical activity counselling and exercise prescription, and how competent patients feel their providers are in these areas. I have worked in research across multiple research fields (exercise science, neonatology, adolescent mental health, rehabilitation) for over 4 years at VGH, BC Children’s, and UBC Hospital. I have recieved multiple research fellowships (SSHRC CGRS-M, FOM SSRP, BCCHR SSRP, EURO), and am super excited to work with the next generation of scientists!
