About Kyler:
Kyler is a second year PhD student in Neuroscience at the University of British Columbia, supervised by Dr. Silke Appel-Cresswell. His research examines how targeted lifestyle interventions, including exercise, nutrition, and stress reduction, can preserve cognitive function, brain health, and quality of life in people with Parkinson’s disease. He is currently launching a clinical trial evaluating these strategies in individuals with Parkinson’s disease and comorbid mild cognitive impairment. Through the BC Brain Wellness Program, he also teaches older adults to play the three-string diatonic dulcimer and researches its effects. Kyler’s goal is to translate research findings into sustainable healthcare practices that improve well-being and quality of life.
