Research Interests:
Microbiology, Host–microbe Interactions, Bioinformatics, Neurodegeneration

About Carolyn:
I am a fourth-year undergraduate student in UBC’s Faculty of Dentistry, studying Dental Clinical Sciences. I am broadly interested in how bacteria, the microbiome, and cellular responses shape human health and disease, particularly in the context of neurodegeneration. My research experience spans both wet-lab and computational work. I previously worked in Dr. Brett Finlay’s lab, where I studied the gut microbiome and its relationship with Parkinson’s disease, and I am currently working in Dr. Jeff Dong’s lab, investigating how aging influences cellular responses in neurodegeneration. Outside of research, I love trying new restaurants, baking, and Pokémon!
