About Michelle:
My name is Michelle and I’m starting the second year of my PhD program in UBC’s Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. My current research involves developing a method to create a universal blood type. I use techniques from organic chemistry, enzymology, and biomedical engineering to achieve my goal. Over the years, I’ve been involved in a multitude of different research labs, covering fields such as synthetic organic chemistry, psychology, and digital health technology. I’m interested in the applications and implementation of biomedical research into clinical settings.
