About Sai:
Hi! I’m Sai, an undergraduate student at UBC with a strong interest in neuroscience, particularly neurodevelopment, epigenetics, and how molecular and cellular mechanisms shape brain development and function. I conduct research in the Ciernia Lab at UBC’s DMCBH, where my work explores chromatin regulation in neurodevelopmental disorders. As a two-time Simons Foundation SURFiN Undergraduate Research Fellow, I have gained experience in molecular and cellular neuroscience techniques and had the opportunity to present my research at the SURFiN Symposium in New York City. As someone who first stepped foot into the world of research during my first year of university, I understand how exciting, yet intimidating, getting started can feel. As a Research Coach, I hope to make research more approachable and help students confidently navigate opportunities, mentorship, and their own paths into research.
