About Marusia:
I’m Marusia, a MASc student in Biomedical Engineering and a UBC Physics graduate. My research interests include medical imaging, medical physics, AI, women’s health, and cancer research, but above all, I’m passionate about connecting physics, engineering, and medicine to help patients! During my undergrad, I completed research on AI applications in cancer care at the University of Manitoba, MR spectroscopy at McGill University, and wrote my thesis on AI-based medical image segmentation for cancer treatment planning at UBC. I have presented this research at numerous conferences across Canada. I also co-founded the Women+ in Physics and Astronomy club at UBC! I’m passionate about helping students navigate research opportunities and making the process feel less intimidating. I can offer advice on finding research programs, cold emailing, as well as writing research papers, abstracts, and making posters. Please feel free to reach out with questions, I’m always happy to chat!
